Scam Description

I was contacted by someone offering a position via text message. There from stated they are from LinkedIn. I looked and saw they had a profile and the person contacting me was legitimate. I then was contacted by some from ‘HR’ and was told to conduct an interview via zoom. As I proceeded alerts went off when I asked if we would be doing a phone call interview or a zoom video conference. But I was told it would only be messaging. As I processed to see this through as I thought it was a legitimate job interview, it came to another bell ringing when I almost immediately got hiring on the spot by just answering a series of questions. I was sent an onboarding email, offer letter and w2 for to fill out. After filling it out I then was prompted about what they will be sending me, the software I will be working with and the equipments I will be needed. By the way this ‘job’ was an administrative assistant. As they continued to explained the process, I was then hit with the “plot twist” having to receive a CHECK from them to deposit into my account immediately. This Check was getting sent to me via a PDF form and i should deduct $100 for my sign on fee and $50 for additional up front payment. That’s when I was sure it was a scam.
