Scam Description
Caller stated someone was trying to use my Credit Card in New Jersey for a purchase of 4,000.00. Asked if I was making the purchase. He said in order to credit back to my account he needed to verify my info. He had what he thought was the last 4 digits of my SS number and was asking me to confirm my Credit Card number. So they could return the money to my account. I did not confirm anything. I told him I didn’t have the card and hung up. He then called back and tried with a different credit card. Texted me a code to confirm. Did not open the text. Hung up on him and called the credit card company. Other numbers showed on my phone he called many times as I didn’t answer. He gave me a call back number of 701-289-5939 and a name of Shawn Gil to verify he was legitimate. Told him it was a scam. Even gave me a reference number of 860094. They try to sound legitimate. I attached a copy of the two texts for BBB only for full disclosure to BBB. I do not wan’t the text published to ensure no release of my personal info. I tried to do without any personal info showing but can’t be certain.
