Scam Description
I was called by telephone in May’ 2024 regarding a refinance program under the American Rescue Plan by President Joe Biden. I was transferred to someone going by the name of William Aston from Regions Home Advisors. I signed paperwork for a refinance loan and sent the amount of $1700 by cashier’s check to 1375 Ventura Blvd Ste 202, Sherman Oaks, CA. 91423. I was told that a drive-by appraisal was completed and the last step was that a notary would be sent to my home to finalize paperwork for the refinance loan. I have been unable to contact Mr. Aston by phone or email.
