Scam Description
I work for a Financial Institution that sends wires out regularly. The particular instance occurred on 10/28/2024 at around 9:30 am. Customer comes in with a woman that is not listed on his account and requests to send a wire to Expertise Drywall LLC. As I was filling out the wire information, the customer did not provide any of the receiving institutions information, the woman that was present with the customer was providing all information. I asked how much the wire was being sent for, customer told me $10,000.00, but the woman accompanying him promptly responded and said to send $9,500.00. After completing the wire form, I decided to look up the business to see what information I could gather. After looking through, I noticed that the business does not have a phone number listed on their website, just simply an email, which on one page is listed as info@expertisedrywall24-com and also info@expertisedrywall24.com under a different page. I continued looking through the website and notice under the ‘About Us’ tab, there were photos and names listed. The woman that was sitting in my office is listed on that website as Co-Founder and Project Manager. The “Co-Founder” is Gina Rodriguez. I had also done a reverse image search on the photos that were posted on the website for their team, and those photos ended showing up as Stock Photos. The customer and Gina told me the funds were being sent for a bid on a project, but since declining to send the wire, the customer went to a different branch and withdrew $9,500 in cash. When the customer was at the other branch, the teller was asking the customer questions regarding the funds he was withdrawing. The customer explained that he had known Gina for 5 to 6 years and she had recently started a new business and he was giving her the money as a “loan”. I believe the customer is being taken advantage by Gina Rodriguez and Keren Quinteros, the CEO of Expertise Drywall. The customer is an older gentleman that is single and living alone and received a large 401k withdrawal about a year ago.
