Scam Description
Pinterest is running adds for a massive going-out-of-business clear-out sale at Joann Fabric & Crafts. When clicked the ad takes you to a website that looks identical to the actual Joann website, but with incredibly reduced prices ($500 sewing machines for $25, etc.). Of course it’s not the real Joann website, they’re just trying to get people to “check out” and give their credit card info. I saw it and almost fell for it, and this week in a Joann store I met an elderly woman who had seen one of these ads and rushed into the store inquiring about how to get these discounts and why the items weren’t marked-down in-store. She was very distressed and confused when I explained I had seen the same ads, and that they’re fake.
