Scam Description
I received a letter in the mail that looks and reads very official stating that it is a final notice to respond to renew my Home Warranty. Among other things it says that “Failure to call and prevent a potential lapse in coverage could result in you being liable for all costs associated with any home repairs…. ” At the top it reads FINAL NOTICE in all-caps and bold and ask to respond immediately by calling 1-888-404-4504. It is signed by Wade Grant, Program Director. This letter has an urgency tone and would make anyone, especially elderly people, fear their home warranty has expired. It was addressed specifically to me and has my personal information which made it seem legitimate. It uses a customer ID number and has a bar code as if its a government document. I did not give them any money but please look into this to possibly save someone else the heartache.
