Scam Description
Number appeared to be connected to Google Fraud. When attempting to report suspicious activity on Pay Pal account caller ended up making charges on my Target account as they poised to be fixing the problem with the activity reported. Initial number called about the discrepancy is 803.994.9800 , the number in the email about the Pay Pal purchase. Number turned out to be tied to GOTOResolve. Can’t find the original email, but received emails from the following: Michaela Hosford@gmail.com; Anthony Lavato48@gmail.com regarding the same. Further emails from Orders@oe.target.com; and Orders@oe1.target.com. Some others from Target regarding some eight purchases @475.00 each from Target.com site. I did not make these charges. After speaking with a “rep” about what I was experiencing, was sent texts from 833.360.2034 to join session. Was given a link to log onto for further assistance. Prior to, I Goolged GOTOResolve and the site appeared legit; with reviews and testimonials. The links given were https://helpdesk.me/join/746290537; https://helpdesk.me/join/764213936; and https://helpdesk.me/join/820389982. One person spoke to was Steven Ward. Gave me CO80284 as his badge number. Spoke with someone else prior, don’t remember the name. Probably fake anyhow. Steven spoke of sending me gift cards and I was like what am I going to do with gift cards. He explained that I was to take them to use at Home Depot. I asked why and his response was this is the only way we can catch and stop them. I ended the call and called my credit union. Needless to say, the damage had already been done. Now Target is trying to make me pay the $4000+. I don’t have that kind of money. Please help stop people getting away with such fraudulent activity against innocent people. I’m happy to forward the emails and PayPal invoice. For whatever it’s worth. Thank you for taking time with this matter.
