Scam Description
I paid Mr. SS, owner of Highview Fence a $5685.00 deposit for the installation of a vinyl fence. He repeatedly would give me a start date for installation and not show up. When more than 6 weeks had passed and it was clear he was not going to install the fence, I requested my deposit be returned. I got police involved and he agreed to return one half of the deposit, stating that I broke the contract. I did not break the contract, he simply did not show for the work. He did not follow the contract himself. This contractor has a reputation for poor business dealing, unbeknownst to me. To avoid legal charges of larceny, he paid partial deposit, and refuses to pay the balance that I am entitled to. It is unfortunate that situations such as this has become a growing trend. I am still trying to obtain the balance of $2842.50.
