Scam Description
The scammer pretends to hire people for non-existent jobs and send them a check to buy office equipment from specific companies run by the scammers. The check is bogus, but the money shows up in the victim’s account in a day or two, as required by federal banking regulations, so it appears to be legitimate12. It’s important to be cautious of such scams and to verify the legitimacy of the job offer before accepting it. If you receive a check from an unknown source, do not deposit it and do not send any money or equipment to the sender. This is what I found out on my own and I did not move forward but told the scammer to F off.
