Scam Description
Scammer connected / friended with my widowed mother via Facebook messenger some time in 2020
Established “relationship” : alleged he is a businessman of Asian descent established in Europe. Works in a Rig , stuck at sea. His wife cheated on him with his best friend and his parents died, “he only has my mother”. Unable to FaceTime “as he has bad reception”. My mother has been in denial and chooses to believe he will pay her back all that she has wired, come to her country to be/marry with her
My mother has detached from the family, has moved on to make fraudulent movements to get more money to send the scammer, has wiped her savings, already owes loan sharks with family owned properties as a warranted of payment.
We have tried to approach her in every way but she does not want to stop believing
Family is desperate and stressed as she is tapping into assets of the family
