Scam Description
I received a text stating I was looking for work from home, data entry position. I was asked to download Microsoft Teams for the interview process. After a series of interview questions, I was offered the position. First day was to fill out typical new hire forms. All seemed legit to me so I proceeded filling out all the forms. Then I was asked to provide a credit card to purchase equipment and software, I advised I only have 1 card and that card does not have much on it. They paid off my card so that I can use it to purchase apple gift cards. Essentially I didn’t lose any money, since they paid for the full balance and it was essentially the same amount amount spent on the gift cards.
