Scam Description
Consumer requested the following “Message:
Hello, I’m Mader Daniel, I would like to know if you’re available for roofing replacement in residential home…..I felt you would be the right person for this project. Need roof to be replaced with same style shingles (Brown charcoal color) Address : 3814 Groome Dr ORLANDO, FL 32810. (3bd-2ba) However, I’m currently out of town on business trip and I would be glad if you could help get it done before my arrival. Also, i will have someone to be with you during work if needed. You can kindly go and take a look at the project for quote perhaps you do the estimates through satelite projection and keep me posted soon via email with all costs of replacement to move forward then get started on project,Okay Thank you”
We sent one of our sales rep’s to go look at the property. The consumer would only communicate via email. We provided an estimate, but the consumer would not sign the contract as he stopped communicating. Then we just received a check in the mail for $11,500.00 which would have been the deposit payment for the contract, and the consumer told our rep that was his deposit payment. We deposited the payment and then the check bounced. We did a further investigation and the consumer does not own the property nor the alleged business he stated he owned. We are now having our bank confirm that none of our banking information was stolen.
