Scam Description
I fell for an ad on Facebook offering Hoka shoes on clearance. I clicked thru to the website, they used the Hoka logo, made themselves look like the Hoka website, and called themselves Hoka USA clearance. I made a purchase, and received a confirmation email, but then quickly realized that this is not Hoka and not an authorized Hoka retailer. There was an email address supplied for any questions with the order. I wrote to the email and requested to cancel the order and have the charges reversed. I received the reply: “Sorry, the package is already in transit and cannot be canceled at the moment.” And nothing else. The confirmation email does include links that say “view your order” and “visit our store”, but no way to track the order. I don’t want to click on any links in case there’s malware involved. My credit card company can’t do anything because I authorized the payment and the company claims my order is in transit.
