Scam Description
I received a call from Mark Goldberg with the Department of Treasury saying I had won $950,000 from Publisher’s International saying he would bring my winnings. He gave me a claim number. He told me the taxes on the winnings were already paid. He asked if I wanted it to be made public or kept private. He referred me to Frank Nelson of Publisher’s International 866-271-0058. He said I had won last year, and he wanted to know if I wanted the money before they close the account. He said I had not entered the contest, someone entered for me because I had more than $50 in Proctor & Gamble products and used my credit card to pay. Today when he called back, he asked for 1% of the winnings to cover the insurance to deliver the PNC check to me today. I was listening very carefully to them. They knew my name and address. They were very slick.
