Scam Description

Computer started blaring – stating – virus was in computer and not to turn off large flashing sign on computer and phone number to call microsoft to repair. Kept me on phone and computer for a long time, presumably collecting info from computer. Sent me to “fraud line” and gave me his employee #. Next person he transferred me to, put me on hold, came back and said the ID checked __. In middle of conversation – disconnected. Beginning of conversation, asked if they needed money to correct this. Thinking if they did, it was scam. He said no, microsoft will never ask for any money. When skeptical later, he sent me to look at a website with his photo. and number of years worked at ‘microsoft’ (13) also told me that __fraud dept. could see my ss#- he couldnt. (it was seen on my computer).
