Scam Description
I received a letter stating that Mercantile was a debt collection agency and that I owed $1689.27 To Citizens Bank N. A., reference number 202XXXXXX. I have always paid all my debts off monthly and have no outstanding debt. The letter stated that if I did not respond within a month, legally, they would assume that all of the information was correct and would proceed with the collection. I returned the letter today, stating that I did not have any debt.
