Scam Description
I was looking for a job, and applied on INDEED for a proofreading work from home job. I sent my resume and was contacted and asked to do an interview by Skype. I was interviewed and offered the job. I was sent an actual contract and all seemed above board. I was then told they would send a check for equipment, since the Board does it that way and they are outside the US. I got 4 checks and was told to deposit them and once they cleared I would be told where to send for equipment. I waited for the checks to clear. Then I sent the money. But after it was all sent…the checks bounced. A person on Skype said that they never have a problem and continued to talk to me, saying the board would fix this right away. That was the beginning of February. They are still on Skype but I still am out the money and have no job. I lost $12,000.
