Scam Description
phone numbers 866-216-4233; 866-631-2504; 866-631-3224 have called and left messages saying they are “santander bank debit card fraud prevention center with an important message we need to verify some recent activity on your sandtander debit card you made a transaction of $485 at moneygram.com which was declined for your accounts protection we have temporary block your card for further verification please call us back on our toll free number 1-866-631-3224 thank you” (they leave whatever number they are calling from and its an automated message. I tried calling the numbers just to see what they answered as and two are out of service and one said santander bank (i hung up). I haven’t had a santander account in 15 years. Neither of these numbers show up on reverse lookup and the customer service for santander bank is a different number.
