Scam Description
Mystery Shopper scam received by postal mail. Included a check for $2,950, which was to be used to pay myself $500 for the assignment, and the rest was to be used to purchase ebay gift cards, which could be purchased at the stores listed in the letter. After purchasing these cards with the money the mystery shopper may or may not have received when he/she deposited or cashed the enclosed check at their bank, they were then supposed to purchase the gift cards then scratch off the gift card numbers on the back of each card, and email “Robert Wilson” @ MysteryShoppingInc.com the photo of each gift card, including the scratched off gift card number on the back of the card.
