Scam Description
I applied for a data entry/remote job on Ziprecruter around 5/15/2023. Went to check back on 5/23/2023 and it said position closed. Then I checked my emails, and I had an email stating that they wanted to interview me for that position. Now I just assumed that they closed the position online while they vet people that applied. I didn’t know.Anyway, the email told me to get in contact with a person named Sarah Melaney on an app called Signal. The number provided for that person was (562)-228-0287. Then I contacted Sarah through signal and had an “online interview” through direct messages only. No phone call no video call. They gave me an interview in 3 parts marked A, B, and C. After the initial questions they told me I was hired. They then sent me a list (on signal) of equipment and software I would have to buy. I had a funny feeling about it after that so I decided to do more research and found that the number they provided me is different then the number for the actual company. She said I am to check in at 9am tomorrow but I WON’T be doing that. I hope this helps y’all!
