Scam Description
Received a call from a person named Dessa, stating she works with Dispute Resolution Service. She claimed i owed a debt from 2014 and since i hasn’t paid it i was being sued for breach of contract and bank fraud. She also stated that if i didn’t pay, then I’d go to court. I paniced and initially gave my card information. But my bank flagged the attempted transaction and canceled my card. The”debt collectors” then sent a contact via Adobe acrobat sign, and i assumed it was just a mistake on the banks part. So i have them a different card number, but the bank flagged and canceled that one as well. After that i started looking into the company. The contract stated that if i couldn’t pay then I’d be held under California laws, but the contract listed an address in Texas. The Texas address was for a printing company. And the phone numbers that kept calling were from various different states.
