Scam Description
I recieved the call on my cell phone at 12:25 pm, the call lasted 11 minutes, the date, 6 March 2023. The scammer said his name was Johnson, and that he was licensed in Windows repair. First he told me that he worked for Windows Technical Support, then Windows Operating System, and when I asked for clarificaiton he reverted to Windows Technical Support. I asked for the address, at first I thought he said Troy, Michigan, and when I asked him to spell it (he didn’t spell it) he said Detroit, Michigan. I couldn’t get him to give me a street address, but I got him to say he was on Balltolla St, he did spell that one for me. He told me that my computer was hacked. When I asked how he knew that, he said he recieved a red alert signal from my computer. He wanted me to tell him when the last time I had logged into my computer. I asked which computer, and he said that if they are both on the same internet then they have the same number. He then asked me to press the fn and R keys at the same time to open the run screen. I asked him what would happen if I did that, he said that he could show me how other people will access my computer. He hung up then, when I hesitated. The call came from a number that matched my area code and the next three digits of my number. The scammer had a very thick accent, I would guess that it was Indian or Packistani.
