Scam Description

We answered a post on Facebook regarding kittens. A woman named Lisa Moore was advertising, and it all seemed fine at first. We e transferred her 600 dollars, and she was going to bring them to us in the morning. We asked her for more information about where they were coming from, when etc, and she just said she would email us in the morning. Then she said she uses a pet delivery service called Smart Delivery, and they would be contacting us with the details. We didnt hear from them for a long time, I pressed Lisa for information, then received an email to say the delivery fee would be an additional 400 dollars. We refused, saying that nothing was mentioned about this, and offered to pick them up ourselves-again no information as to where they were located. I was back and forth via email with this ‘company’ for some time, and also with Lisa, who claims they also asked her for a fee, and she offered to pay 200 dollars of ours. We understood that we had been scammed, but continued to negotiation, and offered to pay the 200 upon delivery. This was refused by ‘smart delivery’ multiple times. Lisa played the role of shocked innocent, and we are out 600 dollars. The facebook page advertising the kittens was taken down during this conversation. Upon asking for business details of ‘Smart Delivery’, they presented a fake address, name and number. They said they dont have a website. I have all the correspondence saved.
