Scam Description
Had recently made purchases at a Dicks Sporting Goods store, then received this email looking like it was from Dick’s Sporting Goods about being chosen for a free YETI cooler prize. Pay shipping and handling to receive gift. I then stupidly paid $1.95 for shipping. The next thing i know my debit card is being charged for $99.95 that I did not authorize.
Called my bank and they are investigating as fraudulent. My bank statement listed the following:
CRD PUR MDJH1PX24 3027 / TRIUMPH DEALS F 833-2991981 CA POINT OF SALE DEBIT
I was even given an order number, but when I tried to email them it was not a legitimate email address.
