Scam Description
I purchased a chunky knit blanket from this company whose ad popped up on my Facebook or Instagram, I can’t remember which. They were having a “flash sale” so the king sized blanket was $39.99 instead of $99.99. I was provided a tracking number shortly after, and I tracked the package all the way to my mailbox, where it never arrived. I waited a few days, asked the neighbors, and then called USPS, where I was informed that it had been delivered to a different address. The guy helping me was not able to tell me the address, but he asked what was in the package, as the sellers used First Class Mail, which has a weight limit of one pound. There’s no way a king sized chunky knit blanket can weigh one pound or less, so we knew I’d been scammed. We were able to get our charge reversed from the credit card company, but I decided to check in with the Mellow Brand company about it as well. I emailed back and forth with the “founder”, Sophie, and over the course of a few weeks they went from “looking into it” to “organizing a re-shipment of my order”. I followed up on this today and my email bounced back because the domain no longer exists. I went to check their website, and it is down as well.
