Scam Description

I reached out to the company in hopes to purchase a mini goldendoodle for my family. I had to complete an on-line application. Once selected they included detailed information (breed/pictures/video) of the puppy. Provided information on supplies needed and food that the puppy was currently eating. They were asking half off on the puppies since a new litter was about to be born and him (David Athenas) & his wife worked full time. I paid a total of $1,000 for the puppy and transport. Once I paid this fee the seller sent me a text indicating the puppy was at the courier service (Air Compentence Transportation Logistics). The courier service sent me a cargo tracking email (https://actransportlogistins.com/cargo-tracking/) where they gave me a tracking # for my puppy. An hour later I received an email and call from this courier service indicating the crate that was dropped off with the puppy was non-compliant and a $900 depsoit will need to be placed by “Zelle” to transport the puppy. They said this fee would be 100% refundable upon delivery of the puppy. I immediately contacted the seller regarding my concerns but he only replied by text. I said it was his responsiblity to get this cleared up since it was part of my contract. He said I would need to contact the courier service and get it handled. After back and forth through emails to the seller and calls from the courier service I realized this was a scam. These scammers need to be stopped and these websites need to be shut down immediately.
