Scam Description
“Agent Mary Wells” from “Economic Development Administration” contacted me from Facebook and promised me a a grant in the amount of $150,000 if I completed the registration process. Half-way through the process, my husband told me it sounded like a scam. He googled this government agency and found that people are using that agency’s name and info to scam folks by promising to give them a grant of money. This agency’s website advises that they do not provide grants to individuals, but only to businesses. I went back to Agent Mary Wells and told her that she was running a scam. She protested and I stopped all contact. Hope this is helpful.
