Scam Description
I was trying to apply for TSA PreCheck, and Google unfortunately places a third-party website first in the search results. This site luckily does not ask for extensive personal information – just name, address, and criminal history. However, they charge a $149 fee for “preparing”/”reviewing” your PreCheck application and setting up the interview, and it is not a secure site so your credit card information could be compromised. It is not clear to me whether the interview has actually been scheduled, as I did receive an email notifying me of the appointment, and the location was the correct interview location for my area.
