Scam Description
I received a call from my bank in regards to some charges on my card. This company was the only one that got through out of 4 fraud. While disputing the charge through my bank, I called up Menila Byed Glow company in good faith to inform them that there was a fraudulent charge. What apparently happened was they or someone who stole my debit card signed up for a monthly subscription in order to enter in for a iPad contest. However a few red flags arose in the short conversation. First, this business was hesitant to confirm whether or not the billing and shipping addresses matched even though I did not ask what the shipping address was specifically. Second, they did would not confirm the area code to the phone number on record much rather asking for mine. Third, their website does not advertise a contest. Fourth, the charge matches that of one of their products as well as a subscription is not advertised on their website. Last and most importantly, and I quote “it’s only $6.84” was the comment by the person on the other line acting as if it’s acceptable that my money is taken freely.
