Scam Description

I subscribe to CenturyLink and DTV, which bundle their services. A man called my number saying he was from DTV (this is what my phone ID said and that I qualify to have STARS added to my bundle of Cable services. I said I did not want STARS. When I checked my bank statement it said $47.37 recurrent charge was coming out of my account (I did not get STARS, either, coincidentally). I called DTV and they said they have had other calls like this. The gentleman checked and said he could not remove the charge as he had no record of it and to call Century Link. Century Link also said they could not find or remove the charge. Somehow, STAR Entertainment had gotten my credit card number and I did not give it to them. Stupidly, I called the number on my bank statement and they said they would refund my money and they would email confirmation to me. Again, foolishly, I gave them my email and then, realizing the mistake, deleted my email account and changed it on my bank profile. It is still my username on my Century Link account as their customer service is practically non-existent. I did close that card with my bank, dispute the payment, and block future payments.
