Scam Description

I was having issues with my computer so I tried to call Best Buy Geek Squad and some how I was connected to this fraud company Geek are. I explained my issues and then made the mistake of giving them remote access to my computer. They said I had several virus issues that needed to be removed. Then they said for a fee of $690 a year they would fix these issues and be available for future issues. I made the mistake of paying them – at their request – by check on the spot. The check had already been cashed by the time I was sure it was a fraud and tried to get my bank to stop payment. They “supposedly” helped me a couple of more times before I realized they were a fraud and left my computer in worse shape than before. I contacted the legitimate Best Buy Geek Squad and they explained several signs that they knew was a fraud. Best Buy has not even been able to fix some of my computer issues. I have called the fraud company to ask for a refund, but I assume I have no recourse to get my money back.
